John A. Cianci | Veteran Service Officer

​Retired U.S. Army MSgt, Persian Gulf War and Iraq War combat theater Veteran


John A. Cianci is a combat disabled veteran of both Desert Shield/Desert Storm and Operation Iraqi Freedom.  He served in the U.S Army in logistics, field artillery surveying, and as a Military Policeman retiring as a Master Sergeant after 22 years.  

He is committed to serving those who serve and have served and passionate about being part of the solution to ending Service Member and Veteran suicide.  He works relentlessly to ensure that all earned benefits are received and facilitates employment and education benefits for veterans and employers committed to hiring veterans.

John has been advocating for self and comrades since return from Desert Storm.  He has testified and provided extensive evidence to the Presidential Advisory Committee on Gulf War Illness; successfully filed legal action against the Veterans' Administration and the Department of Defense; and successfully petitioned the Army Board of Officers.


John has earned a Bachelor of Science degree from Roger Williams University.  He is a graduate of the UConn School of Business Entrepreneurship Boot Camp for Veterans with Disabilities (EBV) and the Department of Defense Solar Ready Veteran program.  He has achieved Professional Residential and Commercial Photovoltaic Certificates from Solar Energy International and is an NABCP Certified Associate.


John's accomplishments have been complimented by the valued relationships shared with his wife, Wendy; his two sons, John Jr. and Jorge; three AWESOME grandchildren, Giovanni, Gianna, and Jamison; and support of his family, Veterans, and friends.

Mission Statement: The COLCHESTER VETERANS COFFEE HOUSE will provide a comfortable location for all Veterans- men & women of any age, identity, ability, service era- to meet, socialize, share & discuss information regarding earned Federal & State Veteran benefits, services, & support.  Veterans will have the opportunity to seek assistance from Italian American War Veterans (ITAMVETS) Service Officers to gain education & assistance on preparing, applying, & filing VA claims & securing benefits.  Veterans being Veterans!!!
